Media Brief - Statement of Harper Grey LLP regarding Special Prosecution of Kash Heed Campaign
May 10, 2010Vancouver - May 10, 2010. Harper Grey LLP issued the following media statement today regarding the special prosecution of the Kash Heed campaign.
Harper Grey recognizes the public concern and seriousness of the withdrawal of Terrence Robertson as the Special Prosecutor appointed to the Kash Heed campaign matter. We regret that the action of one of our firm's partners has initiated concerns regarding the Special Prosecution process.
On Friday, we returned the fees received for the services of the special prosecutor. We did this because, in hindsight, the work should not have been taken on.
We have begun an internal review of our policies and procedure and have decided that in future we will not, as a firm, make political donations.
As a highly regarded member of the legal community, we welcome the BC Law Society's review of this matter.
