Richard Attisha quoted in new business development book for lawyers

June 2009

Every lawyer knows that it has never been more critical than it is right now to build a reputation as being knowledgeable and trustworthy. Harper Grey Partner Richard Attisha is quoted in The Little Black Book: a Lawyer's Guide to Creating a Marketing Habit in 21 Days by Florida author Paula Black. The book has been one of the most popular business management listings on Amazon.com this month.

Mr. Attisha's advice as quoted in the book: "Be more resourceful. Don't just market your own expertise; market the expertise of the firm as a whole. If you belong to a global network, market its expertise with clients who do cross-border business. Familiarize yourself with the type of practice and legal experience of every lawyer in your firm and legal network. Read their profiles and understand their strengths. You are marketing their services just as much as your own and sometimes it is a bit more comfortable to talk about others."

Ms. Black's book contains tips and practices from 34 lawyers across the US and Canada. Here's what one of them had to say about it:

"I beleive that most lawyers have pre-conceived negative views about marketing, even though the practice of law is also about the success of a business in an increasingly competitive marketplace. It is therefore my desire to be a part of the educational resources that counter this mindset, and as a result help lawyers succeed. The resources that Paula Black creates in the area of lawyer and law firm marketing, positioning and planning are, quite simply, some of the most valuable and practical that are available; I consider the opportunity to contribute to this publication an honour." Thomas C. Grella, USA

The book is available on amazon.com.
