Alison practices primarily in the areas of commercial litigation and medical malpractice defense. She is presently a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Health Law Practice Groups.

Representative Client Work

  • Acting on behalf of a minority shareholder and Chief Financial Officer of a closely held company to resolve a shareholder dispute and successfully extricate the client from the company
  • Bringing a summary trial application on behalf of a leading accounting firm, leading to the Plaintiffs’ decision to abandon their claims
  • Bringing a summary trial application on behalf of and successfully defending an ophthalmologist in an action commenced by a plaintiff with deteriorating vision due to diabetes who alleged that one of her eyes was damaged during a laser treatment
  • Assisting senior counsel in successfully defending two general surgeons through trial in an action commenced by a plaintiff alleging sub-standard care following gastrointestinal surgery
  • Successfully representing various clients at numerous multi-party mediations

Background

Alison was born in Calgary, Alberta in 1965 and grew up in North Vancouver. Prior to attending law school, Alison worked as an international fashion model, primarily in Canada, France, Germany and Japan. She has been an active volunteer for a variety of charitable organizations including AIDS Vancouver and the B.C. Lions Society for Children with Disabilities. She has also conducted community seminars for the People’s Law School. Her interests include running, volleyball, squash, golf, snowboarding and travelling.
