Jonathan Woolley maintains a diverse practice in the areas of administrative, environmental and insurance law, and commercial litigation.  A significant focus of Jonathan's practice is the defence of physicians and other professionals in regulatory matters, and the defence of insurance professionals in negligence actions.  He has appeared as counsel at the Provincial and Supreme Courts of British Columbia, as well as the B.C. Human Rights Tribunal.  Jonathan articled with Harper Grey between 2003-2004 and joined the firm as an associate following his call to the Bar of British Columbia.

Representative Client Work

  • Representing professionals before their governing bodies in a wide variety of disciplinary matters
  • Representing physicians in proceedings before the Medical Services Commission
  • Assisting senior counsel in the successful defence of a major corporation in a seven-week trial relating to allegations of breach of commercial contract
  • Representing insurance brokers in negligence actions
  • Defending individual and corporate clients in proceedings before the B.C. Human Rights Tribunal

Background

Jonathan was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland and was raised in Saskatchewan. During law school, Jonathan completed an internship at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague.  In his spare time, Jonathan enjoys golf, tennis, squash, and running.
