Kim Jakeman practices primarily in the field of Health Law. She has also practiced in the areas of Insurance and Commercial Litigation. She is very experienced in matters involving professional negligence. Kim has appeared as counsel in a number of high profile trials, and has prepared leave applications for the Supreme Court of Canada.

Background

Kim is an active leader in the legal profession, participating in a Canadian Bar Association mentoring program for junior female lawyers and speaking at many in-house training seminars on the practice of law. She is Past Chair of the National Health Law section of the CBA having served as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice Chair and Chair over the past three years. She has been a speaker and tutor on ethics and professional negligence to students and physicians in programs sponsored through the Faculty of Medicine, University of British Columbia. Kim's writing has been published in legal journals, including The Advocate and The Lawyers Weekly.
