Daniel Reid articled with Harper Grey LLP in 2008-2009. Following his call to the Bar of British Columbia in 2009, he joined the firm as an associate. Daniel practices in the areas of  health Law, commercial litigation and securities litigation.

Representative Client Work

Commercial Litigation

• Assisting senior counsel in securities matters before the B.C. Court of Appeal.
• Assisting senior counsel in complex commercial disputes.
• Prosecuting and defending Small Claims files. 

Defamation

• Successfully obtained a Bill of Discovery that ordered a website to turn over the identity of the an anonymous forum commentator. A Bill of Discovery permits a court to order discovery against a person who the applicant has no cause of action against, and who is not a party to an action.

• Assisting senior counsel in defamation actions.

Health Law:

• Assisting senior counsel in health law matters.

Background

Daniel grew up in Calgary and attended Carleton University in Ottawa to pursue a journalism degree. After working in radio and television, he moved to Vancouver in 2005 to attend law school.

In his spare time, Daniel enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking and kayaking.
