Brigeeta Richdale joined Harper Grey LLP as a summer student in 2008 and as an articling student in 2009. After completing her law degree at the University of Victoria, she was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2010.

Brigeeta practices with our commercial litigation and securities litigation groups.

Representative Client Work

  • Acting on behalf of clients in commercial matters in the Supreme Court of British Columbia and Provincial Court (Small Claims), including negotiation, mediation, settlement and court hearings.  
  • Acting on behalf of clients in securities matters including providing advice and representation in investigations by and proceedings before the Securities Commission and the RCMP's Integrated Market Enforcement Team, and self-regulatory organizations such as the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada, the Mutual Fund Dealer's Association, and Regulation Services.
  • Acting for plaintiffs and defendants in lawsuits against stockbrokers and their firms related to a variety of claims including negligent advice, unsuitable investments, unauthorized trading and breaches of fiduciary duty.
  • Acting for directors and officers in claims based upon oppression, derivative actions, negligence, breach of fiduciary duties and regulatory proceedings.
  • Acting on behalf of clients in matters involving harassment and discrimination before the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal

Professional & Civic Activities

Background

During her first year of law school, Brigeeta was a member of the University of Victoria's Client Counseling Moot Team where she placed first over 192 teams across North America and was invited to compete in the Louis M. Brown International Client Counseling Competition in Sydney, Australia. The following year, she co-coached of the University of Victoria's Client Counseling Moot Team at the Regional and National competitions, and traveled with the team to the Internationals in Bangalore, India. Brigeeta also was a member of the University of Victoria's Negotiation Moot in her second year, where they earned the title of Western Canadian Champions.

In 2008, Brigeeta took on the role of Canadian National Representative of the Client Counseling Competition in which she oversees the moot teams from law schools across Canada and facilitates the competition in conjunction with the American Bar Association. In 2009 - 2010, Brigeeta co-coached the University of British Columbia Client Counseling Moot Team who earned the titled of Regional Champions and were invited to compete in the Louis M. Brown International Client Counseling Competition in Hong Kong in 2010.

Brigeeta was born and raised in Vancouver. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and has visited Australia, Western and Eastern Europe, and parts of Asia. Brigeeta is an avid sports fan, and enjoys yoga, running, hiking, kayaking, swimming, volleyball and softball, and loves watching hockey.
