Harper Grey’s Criminal Law Practice Group includes experienced lawyers who bring a wealth of experience to each case. We have represented clients in some of British Columbia’s most well known criminal law cases.
We counsel individual clients and corporations concerning their exposure to criminal law. Our lawyers represent clients in all manner of criminal cases at all levels of the judicial system, from the Supreme Court of Canada to the British Columbia Provincial Court, with a substantial body of work at the appeal court level.
Lawyers within the group have also served as former crown prosecutors and on occasion work as Crown Counsel in matters involving potential or perception of conflict within the Attorney General’s Ministry.

Representative Client Work
- Co-Counsel for one of two Accused on the Air India case.
- Special Prosecution of ttwo leaders of a polygamous sect in British Columbia.
- Counsel in the Supreme Court of Canada in R. v. Nagra (1994), a case involving passport fraud and allegations of Sikh terrorism.
- Counsel on many major multi-count cases involving allegations of historical sexual abuse.
- Counsel in the Court of Appeal on numerous matters, both for the Accused/Appellant and the Crown/Respondent, including several successful appeals from first degree murder convictions.
- Co-Counsel for one of the Defendants in the Nanaimo Commonwealth case (otherwise known as the "Bingogate" case).
- Acting as counsel for the accused in Regina v. Pontes where the Supreme Court of Canada upheld all the lower court decisions that a section of the Motor Vehicle Act of B.C. contravened the Charter.
