Positions Available


We are currently seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Floater Resource Team.  The position provides an opportunity to work with a vibrant and team oriented group of people. The successful candidate will have between 3-5 years’ experience working in a Canadian law firm, be energetic, flexible, highly motivated and driven to succeed.


You will be providing coverage to lawyers during periods of vacation and other absences.  You will be liaising with other legal assistants, paralegals, lawyers and clients regarding file progress. You will be drafting and transcribing legal documents, basic pleadings and correspondence, fielding client inquiries, managing a bring-forward system for tasks and appointments, organizing meetings and scheduling discoveries, trials, and other court dates, preparing application records, keeping paper and electronic files up-to-date, preparing monthly accounts, conducting searches, providing overflow assistance and other various general administrative duties.


  • Completion of an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant program
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant
  • A thorough understanding of civil litigation rules and procedures. Experience in corporate and estate litigation will be considered an asset
  • Committed to providing first-rate level of knowledge and prompt quality service to clients
  • Flexible to providing interim coverage in all practice areas of the firm
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
  • Highly organized and multi-task oriented, with the ability to balance priorities and produce quality accurate work
  • A high level of initiative and resourcefulness
  • Solid decision making and problem solving skills coupled with a willingness to learn and to adapt to changing demands
  • Proven ability to take initiative as well as follow instructions and adhere to strict deadlines


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent spelling, grammar and proofreading skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks by deadline, work calmly under pressure and manage high volume of work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to maintain an effective file management and bring forward system
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with an ability to work in a team environment
  • Advanced technical skills including Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel
