Barbara Norell appointed Queen’s Counsel
February 2, 2017
We are proud to announce that Barbara Norell was recently bestowed the honorary title of Queen’s Counsel or QC. This designation is conferred annually by the BC Lieutenant-Governor in Council, on the recommendation of the BC Attorney General, on members of the legal profession to recognize exceptional merit and contribution. This honor acknowledges Barbara’s professional integrity, good character and excellence in the practice of law. As a partner at Harper Grey, Barbara leads by example. She is consistently recognized for her excellence in Health Law & Medical defence and acts as a mentor for both members of the firm and other women in the profession. Barbara is an active speaker, frequently sharing her knowledge through presenting at conferences and panel discussions.
“Barbara goes about her work, and her service to her profession and community, with little fanfare”, states Managing Partner, Richard Bereti. “She prefers to dig in and get things done and, whenever possible, give credit to others. Barb is strong, and speaks her mind. She is principled and caring. She also works tirelessly to further causes she holds dear. For these reasons and many others she has long been a leader in our firm and in the community. We are very pleased that she has been recognized in this way for her dedication and commitment to the legal profession.”
