Alec Colwell

Alec joined Harper Grey as an associate in 2026. He attended law school at the University of Calgary and completed his articles with Harper Grey before being called to the BC Bar in 2026.

During law school, Alec built a strong foundation in business law by volunteering as a caseworker with the Business Venture Clinic, where he supported entrepreneurs and emerging businesses with practical legal guidance, and by working as a teaching assistant of business law courses at the Haskayne School of Business.

In his third year of law school, Alec received hands on experience working in the legal department of a mid-sized oil and gas company, strengthening his understanding of commercial transactions, corporate governance and securities law.

Outside of work, Alec enjoys playing tennis and going for long walks with his family.
