Elie maintains a litigation practice focused on health and insurance law.
Elie is an associate at Harper Grey, practicing primarily in our health law and insurance groups.
In her health law practice, Elie provides strategic advice on professional liability, medical malpractice, and regulatory matters, advising healthcare professionals and institutions on complex legal issues. She is committed to navigating the evolving landscape of health law, ensuring compliance with changing legislative frameworks while advocating for her clients in litigation and regulatory proceedings.
In addition to her health law expertise, Elie practices insurance litigation, handling defence matters involving bodily injury, property damage, construction deficiencies, and professional liability claims.
Elie is admitted to the bar in both Ontario and British Columbia. She began her legal career in Toronto, before moving to Vancouver, where she worked at national firms. She has appeared before all levels of court in British Columbia, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (Commercial List), the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, and the American Arbitration Association.
Elie completed her law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. Prior to law school, she pursued her passion for ethics and healthcare policy by completing a Master of Science in Bioethics at Columbia University, where her thesis focused on MAiD (medical assistance in dying) in Canada. She holds an undergraduate degree from McGill University.
