Caryna Miller

Known for her strategic counsel skills, Caryna prides herself on working seamlessly with clients and counsel and provides our clients with innovative strategies to meet complex challenges. She has significant experience in complex litigation matters, professional liability defence, class action defence and contaminated sites.
Caryna carries on a general commercial litigation practice with a particular interest in construction litigation, contract and partnership disputes, product liability claims, injunctions, and environmental contaminated sites litigation.
Caryna has acted on a number of cases involving a variety of commercial matters on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants, including breach of contract claims, real estate litigation, shareholder claims of oppression and share dilution, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, and breach of trust. She also has experience in large, document-intensive matters involving complex expert evidence and has appeared and made submissions for her clients in courts across Canada.
In her construction practice, Caryna advises and represents a variety of clients, including developers of residential and commercial projects, general contractors, project owners, and design professionals. Caryna’s work ranges from advising on complex contractual interpretation, acting in errors and omissions claims, and efficiently managing builders’ lien issues.
On the environmental front, she is an integral part of our environmental team working closely with a wide variety of clients relating to complex environmental compliance matters. Caryna’s environmental practice is focused on risk management and cost recovery claims, and she works extensively on litigation matters related to the recovery of remediation costs pursuant to the Environmental Management Act and Contaminated Sites Regulation, and related common law causes of action arising from environmental contamination. She routinely assists commercial property owners, developers, and other businesses in understanding their environmental regulatory responsibilities, with a particular focus on minimizing environmental risk arising from ownership of and operations on contaminated lands.
Caryna serves on the board of directors of Pacific Community Resource Society, a non-profit that provides accredited social services across British Columbia, including youth and family support, education, employment, housing, substance use, and mental health services.
