Harper Grey senior counsel, Christiopher Rusnak, KC, was recently featured on a CBC “What on Earth” episode. The segment discussed UBC’s Earth Day Celebration, which was held at the Chan Centre on April 22, 2026. The event included leading voices in ecology, Indigenous stewardship, law, literature, and music. Chris participated in the panel discussion, moderated by “What On Earth” host Laura Lynch, which included insights from UBC Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Stewardship Professor Suzanne Simard; Ma’amtagila Hereditary Chief and artist Rande Cook; Cree author and Governor General’s Literary Award–winning writer Michelle Good; and Tsimshian Environmental Stewardship scholar Dr. Teresa Ryan. An advocate for the Rights of Nature, Chris sits on the Board of Directors of Suzanne Simard’s Mother Tree Network Society and writes about old growth forest protection and climate change, including In Defence of the Trees: Presenting the Case for Ancient Forest Rights, UCLA Journal of Environmental Law and Policy, (2023), 41(2).
