Kim Jakeman, QC receives Female Trailblazer of the Year 2022 Canadian Law Excellence Award

We are proud to announce that Harper Grey partner, Kim Jakeman, QC, has been named as a recipient of an Excellence Award for the 2022 Gowling WLG Award for Female Trailblazer of the Year – Private Practice.

Part of the Canadian Law Awards presented by Lexpert, this award is open to all Canada-based women lawyers and is judged on professional accomplishments, leadership, community involvement, and the extent to which the individual has either passively or actively contributed to gender equality in the legal profession.

Since the beginning of her career, Kim has demonstrated a deep and abiding dedication to the practice of law, investment in the next generation of lawyers, and the general advancement of women within the legal profession. She continuously takes on leadership roles both within the firm and the community and is a supporter of initiatives to encourage the retention of women in law. Perhaps Kim’s most notable contribution to the pursuit of gender equality in the legal profession is the award-winning platform Life in Law, (“LiL”), which she launched in collaboration with another Harper Grey female partner, Una Radoja, in early 2020.
