Rachel Wood participates in the Advocates’ Society Program “Litigating Sexual Violence Claims”

Harper Grey lawyer, Rachel Wood, recently participated as a faculty member in the Advocates’ Society Program, “Litigating Sexual Violence Claims.” At the session, Rachel spoke on the topic of “Managing Evidentiary Issues Before and At Trial.”
Held virtually on October 22, the program aimed to leave attendees with the following learnings:
• To identify the causes of action that may arise in an instance of sexual violence and the venues for pursuing a claim and the related defenses
• The perspectives of plaintiff and defense counsel on how to approach pursuing or defending claims related to sexual violence
• The cross-over between civil and criminal issues in these files
• Evidentiary issues to consider
• Potential remedies available to plaintiffs

Rachel has vast and diverse experience in her criminal and civil sexual assault practice, having been counsel on many complex matters defending individuals and organizations.
