Daniel Reid interviewed by CBC National News about hateful comments made on Twitter aimed at comedian and actress Leslie Jones

July 20, 2016

Defamation, Privacy & Media lawyer, Daniel Reid, was interviewed by CBC National News and provided commentary regarding a recent barrage of hateful posts aimed at comedian and actress Leslie Jones on Twitter. According to Daniel Reid, the biggest issue in pursuing these cases is tracking the users down. Reid explained that “it can be quite expensive, quite time consuming and there’s not even any guarantee that you will find out who it is. In Canada, there have been only four court cases stemming from questionable tweets.”
