Jonathan Meadows and Daniel Reid to speak at the CLEBC’S 2016 Insurance Law Conference

On September 28, 2016, Harper Grey partner Jonathan Meadows and Harper Grey associate Daniel Reid, will speak at the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC’s annual Insurance Law Conference. In their presentation “Not Just an App- the Rise of the Sharing Economy and Insurance Challenges” Jonathan and Daniel will discuss the impact on the future of the Canadian insurance industry, coverage and liability issues arising out of ride-sharing (Uber), home sharing (AirBnB) and delivery (Flex) apps to the emergence of “peer-to-peer” lending, how these shared services are structured and regulated and insurance issues that have emerged in Canada and the US arising out of the “gig economy”. This comprehensive program aimed at insurance litigators, defence counsel, insurance industry professionals, claims managers, arbitrators and mediators will be held at the Pan Pacific Hotel in downtown Vancouver.
