July 31, 2018
Harper Grey privacy and defamation lawyer Daniel Reid, was interviewed by CFAX Radio about the tent city at Victoria’s Regina Park. There has been a camera set-up by Victoria Drains Services that has been live streaming the tent city for a week. Issues regarding consent have arisen as a result of this camera as generally a private sector cannot record people in a public space. Daniel discussed how people can still have an expectation of privacy in “public spaces” and how existing laws can apply to new technologies such as online streaming.
